ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, NJ – Mario M. Kranjac, successful venture capitalist and the first Republican-elected Mayor of Englewood Cliffs in more than 40 years, today filed his candidacy for Governor of New Jersey.

“TRUMPY MAYOR” OF ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS NOT AFRAID TO FIGHT

Mario M. Kranjac is a political outsider, successful self-made attorney and businessman, and unapologetic supporter of President Trump. Mario will bring fresh thinking, reform, and change to Trenton.

Kranjac is the son of legal immigrants and a New Jersey native. He is a devoted husband, father of three accomplished adult children, attorney, and venture capitalist. In the private sector, Kranjac founded both a successful law firm and a venture capital firm that helps biotechnology companies turn their life-saving technologies into reality.

Just like President Trump, after decades of success in the private sector Kranjac felt the call to service. In 2016, he was elected Mayor of Englewood Cliffs as a political outsider, beating the Democrat political machine that had been running the mayor’s office for 42 years. As Mayor, he improved the quality of life in Englewood Cliffs by reinstituting the rule of law, fighting corruption, improving schools, rebuilding public infrastructure, and lowering government spending and taxes.

Fake News NJ.com called Kranjac the “Trumpy Mayor” of Englewood Cliffs because he took on Black Lives Matter, Phil Murphy’s COVID lockdowns, and weaponized courts hellbent on ending local control of zoning with mandatory low-income, high-density apartment housing in residential neighborhoods. Now, Kranjac is the ONLY true Trump Republican running for Governor who has a proven record of winning in a blue town and defeating Marxist ideologies. As governor, he will recover damages for communities targeted by judges, the legislature, prior governors and the Fair Share Housing Council.

AMERICA FIRST REPUBLICAN RUNNING TO FLIP NEW JERSEY RED

Kranjac is running as an America First Republican who intends to finish the job President Trump started in 2024 by finally flipping New Jersey red. President Trump came within six percentage points of defeating then-Vice President Kamala Harris in New Jersey in November’s general election matchup, a 10-point swing towards Trump from 2020.

Republicans have also significantly outgained Democrats in newly-registered voters since 2020. According to the New Jersey Division of Elections, there are currently nine more registered Democrats in New Jersey compared to January 2021 but 184,026 more registered Republicans. New Jersey Republicans outpaced Democrats in new voter registration in 2024 by a 2-to-1 margin.

A recent Emerson College poll showed almost half, 47 percent, of Garden State Republicans are undecided and looking for another choice outside of the current field of candidates.
